Compensation

  • Positions start at $17.03/hour*
*NoteStudents may not be employed by the University more than 50% time during the fall or spring semester in any combination of titles. Students may work up to 100% time during the summer and during the winter break.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

All SLC tutors must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • No more than two “Incomplete” grades
  • Not on academic probation
  • Plus, program-specific minimum qualifications*

In addition, selected candidates are required to:

  • Attend program-specific orientation and weekly training
  • Work the minimum hours required by their positions*

Application Procedure

Materials Required

  • Short responses
  • Program-specific supplemental material (writing sample, assessment exercise, etc.)
  • Current academic transcript (unofficial accepted)
  • Faculty/Advisor Recommendation Form (must be submitted by the first day of service)

Process

  • Submit a separate application for each position and each program
  • Request a faculty/advisor recommendation for each position and each program (must be submitted by the first day of service)
  • Candidates who submit a complete application and who satisfy the minimum qualifications and program requirements will be invited for an interview
  • Candidates are notified of the results of their applications in writing within three weeks of their interviews

Deadline

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
