With Spring 2022 in full swing, the SLC Economics Program is excited to resume our full slate of services next week. Read on for more information about the services available and how you can take advantage of them.
Hybrid Drop-in Tutoring: Our most personalized and interactive support format, Hybrid Drop-in Tutoring is where you set the learning agenda, whether to review lectures, work through the problem sets, or receive insights about the class from an experienced peer tutor. Tutoring will take place between the hours of 1PM and 5PM, from Monday-Thursday, in-person in the César E. Chávez Atrium and virtually via Zoom. Schedules and sign-in instructions can be found here.
Zoom Exam Review Sessions: Created in consultation with faculty, our review sessions cover both relevant exam materials and recommended studying strategies. With a focus on developing conceptual frameworks and problem-solving skills, we aim to prepare you for both short-term gains and long-term mastery. All reviews will take place over Zoom, and RSVP forms will be emailed to you the week before each exam. To check if you're on our mailing list, check if you've received an email this semester from slc-econ@berkeley.edu.
Learning Strategies Emails: Every week, we will share with you a strategy for learning Economics that we have gleaned from research and gathered through experience. Topics range from effective reading strategies to self-care practices and stress management tips. To check if you're on our mailing list, check if you've received an email this semester from slc-econ@berkeley.edu.
Workshops: Our workshops cover a wide range of topics pertinent to your success as a prospective and current Economics major: from the basics of declaration to strategies for writing an effective economic essay. Workshop topics and schedules will vary by semester, and RSVP forms will be emailed to you. To check if you're on our mailing list, check if you've received an email this semester from slc-econ@berkeley.edu.
All of our services are free for registered Cal students! We encourage you to take advantage of these resources early and set yourself up with good study habits from the get go.
